Born in Washington, D.C., Pastor John Dunnack was raised in Clayton, Delaware. He graduated from Smyrna High School, has a B.A, from Houghton College, and an M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

He came to faith in Christ at Ewell’s-St. Paul MEC in Clayton in 1960, and was ordained in 1971 in the Southern New England Conference of the UMC. He has since served churches in Wilmington, MA, Gloucester, MA and East Hartford, CT.

​

He transferred to the Peninsula-Delaware Conference in 1978, serving in Wilmington, DE, New Castle, DE and now, since 1997, at Red Lion UMC in Bear, DE. He retired in 2008 but is still actively serving here.

He has been married to his wife, Mary Dunnack, since 1969. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
